Fortunately, not all lawyer websites look the same

As part of its new online marketing strategy, we developed a completely new website environment for a renowned law firm.

Working closely with the firm's marketing and communications team, our online marketing experts are now realizing great results. More visitors on the website, more contact and information requests, more new clients and more billable hours. Congratulations!

Soon we will meet to evaluate the project. In anticipation of this, together with the project team, we looked back at our pitch with the 7 key points. And to be honest, we are glad that our client had the guts to give us a free hand within the framework of the pitch!

Telling a story, your story

The new website environment had to be built logically and work naturally. A website where visitors can easily find all the information is going to ensure that they also stay on the website longer. Tell a story on the website. Tell the story of the office. What is the working method? Who are you guys? What are your specialties? Who are the clients? What have you meant to clients and what can you mean to future clients?

Being closer to your customers

By being candid and presenting the office in this way, you are much closer to your online visitors. It makes the office approachable and thus lowers the threshold to contact you. Especially the latter is distinctive from other offices.

Personal and trusting

All these factors should build trust among website visitors, because this is the right basis for engaging with you. In any case, it is important to offer relevant information in a personal way. An online (free) introductory meeting, results of cases, workshops for clients and / or a newsletter.

User-friendly and interactive

In terms of site layout, we are a big proponent of a one page website. This is a website layout in which all content and functionality is placed on one page. The starting point of the website is a full image showing just your name, logo and navigation menu. Then click on any label and you slide across the website to the corresponding content.

Accessible and clear

The one page website focuses mainly on the first contact moment with your customers. Only the information that is important at that time will be presented. This keeps the website well-organized and the story clear and accessible. In addition, the navigation menu remains continuously visible. This allows visitors to navigate to the desired part of the website at any time.

Grabbing and holding attention

The website must be cleanly formatted. The home page contains a nice slider including images that rotate. Each image is linked to a relevant quote. The purpose of this is to grab and hold attention.

What customers say on the website

An important part of the new website is customer input and feedback. In your case, it is primarily the personal approach and genuine interest in the challenges of customers that should make the difference. There is less emphasis here on "showcasing knowledge," as is done on many other websites.

For learning and inspiration, we looked at an enormous number of websites during this process. Almost without exception, these websites were put together and structured in the same way: Areas of law and knowledge, partner information, articles, etc. In short, a lot of sending and little aspiration to actual interaction with stakeholders.

Stand out from the crowd and go back to the essence. Back to the beginning. Why did you start as a lawyer back then? What drives you? What energizes you and what suits you?

Let your website be a reflection of who you are, what you stand for and what you can do for your customers. We promise you that the process of putting together a new website will be as rewarding as the results it generates.
