Exceed expectations

Sales is not bad, but selling a bad product or providing a lousy service is unforgivable. The potential buyer's memory of a sales method is quickly forgotten if the product or service exceeds all expectations.

Buying is a choice and not an obligation

If buyers choose not to buy, that is not a go-ahead to start bombarding them with unsolicited offers, or content. Respect the choice and, above all, take the time to thank them for the attention.

Freedom is happiness

Be generous with return policies and refund arrangements. Potential buyers experience online sales much less dramatically if they know they can always undo the deal and get their money back.    

Persuasion is everything

The first and by far the most critical person you need to convince is yourself. If you yourself are not convinced that your solution makes a difference to customers, there is no chance that you can convince a potential buyer of it.

Is online sales bad?

Online sales is not bad, even "wrong online sales" is not bad. What is bad is providing a useless product, lousy service or uninspired and sometimes even indecent salespeople.
